The Sofa Edit - our favorites and how to style them

With great pillows and throws, should come an equally gorgeous sofa - but that's often easier said than done! We've rounded up a bunch of our favorites (for all styles and budgets) and have suggested which of the Maison de Vacances pieces we'd style with each one.

Neva Sofa by Sixpenny Home

Sixpenny sofas are a game changer as their slipcovers can be removed and machine washed when needed - making light-colored linen a viable option for even the messiest of households! They're also ridiculously comfy, beautiful to look at, and made from high quality natural materials. We love all of their designs but our absolute favorite has to be the Neva Sofa in Corn Silk cotton linen.

As it's neutral, almost anything would look great on this sofa - we recommend making a statement with the kaki and ocre velvet cushions, along with the white bouclette lumbar and this linen duvet cocoon. They're the perfect autumnal tones and so frickin' cozy.

The Cloud Sectional by Restoration Hardware

There's been so much hype around this sectional and for very good reason - it genuinely feels like you're sitting on a cloud! Heather's currently thinking about getting one for her place so you'll be seeing much more of this if she takes the plunge. There's no doubt that it's a big investment, but it's so well made that it's bound to last for years to come.

One of the best things about sectionals is that you can really go all out with the pillows and throws - afterall, they're basically a big comfy bed! We recommend going for this gorgeous trio of a blush sheekskin (draped over the back) with pillows in fawn linen and kaki velvet. Finish it off with a large rug lumbar and there you have it - sofa perfection!

The Fabienne Sofa by Lulu & Georgia

We're huge fans of Lulu & Georgia's contemporary yet classic designs, and we think the Fabienne Sofa is one of their best to date. This moss velvet is absolutely divine, and despite being quite the statement piece, it would still look amazing in so many different spaces. As it's quite deep, you can get really snuggled up and cozy all year round.

We suggest sticking to a pretty neutral palette for this one, as you don't want to detract from that beautiful moss velvet. We love mixing textures so the white bouclette lumbar is an obvious choice here - as is the blush velvet cushion and the crumpled linen throw in mushroom.

Where do we even start!? The Camaleonda is without doubt the most iconic and versatile sofa of them all. With individual modules and removable backs that double up as a daybed or footstool, you can create countless configurations depending on what's most suited to you. We're absolutely obsessed with this chocolate brown velvet 7-piece, designed by Mario Bellini in 1971. We recently got to sit on it in the Beton Brut showroom and it's insanely comfy. A girl can dream...

We love the idea of combining white bouclette with the rich chocolate velvet, so we suggest a sheepskin throw and a couple of lumbars on here. The double sided cream and fawn linen throw would also complement it nicely, without detracting from the main attraction.

Sinclair Luxe Moss Sofa by Joanna Gaines

When it comes to choosing an affordable, well-designed sofa, the Sinclair Luxe Moss gets our vote. We love the mid-century modern style and the dark velvet which serves as a great practical option for young families and pets.

This sofa is already so sophisticated, thanks to the rich moss velvet fabric. We recommend sticking to quite dark tones, with the ocre and clay velvet pillows and then adding a cream linen throw for contrast. As with many of the Maison de Vacances pieces this is machine washable so there's no need to worry about possible stains.

Custom sofa covers by Bemz

Our final suggestion is Bemz, an ingenious Swedish brand who make fashion-forward slip covers for practically every Ikea sofa model. This is such a cheap and effective way to transform your current sofa without the hassle of replacing or re-upholstering it. You literally just choose your model, and then select one of their 100+ beautiful fabrics. It couldn't be easier and we can't believe no one thought of it sooner!

We think this linen cover in Dusk would look lovely with several pieces from the Maison de Vacances Collection. We would definitely recommend the sheepskin in blush, with the light pink linen cocoon and the cream linen pillow
